Sonny Fisher had been a stay at home Dad allowing his wife Maya to work in her career, which was still seen as a little bit strange. When he eventually agrees to have some “me time” as he is obsessed with the children, reconnecting with his childhood friend Huck would see a truly crazy weekend unfold.
⭐️⭐️
Huck Demo is one of those men who has never actually grown up since leaving High School, still hanging round with people in their 20s and not wanting to accept how old he actually is. Despite having crazy and ridiculous birthday parties each year to celebrate turning another year older, even when it is not seen as a big milestone.
Sonny reached a point in his life where he did not even want to talk to Huck on FaceTime and he has become over obsessed with his children and the work they do at school, and then the extras that come along with it all. He is on the committee at school, in charge and again that is all he has! When eventually admitting that having some time without the children and his wife and a weekend where he can pretty much do anything he wants.
This is where he eventually decides to go a little crazy like the old days and reconnects with Huck, and realises that they actually both need each other for a balance to their lives. Especially as it turns out that Huck really does need a lot of support and help.
The thing is though this was probably never really going to be my type of film and the daft comedy moments of men doing ridiculous things ie The Hangover was never going to be my thing. I guess falling for Netflix advertising a film that is new really does work as that is the only reason I can come up with for watching it. Although I do like Mark Wahlberg, even if he does seem to occasionally get involved in films like this one. Kevin Hart has his moments as well, so I guess everyone knows exactly what they are going to get with him as well.
This is probably a good film for Netflix though as both big enough names that this will get quite the audience, so I guess that is something? Just not for me.

Good review. I can’t understand how this movie could even be made. It came out of the gate with potential then went from hilarious to terrible quickly. As it went on it seemed like a goal to make the next minute worse than the last. I’m almost convinced Netflix put this out there to see how long the majority of people were willing to suffer before turning it off.

Everything you have said is totally spot on! It crashed and burned very quickly! Certainly one of those films where I was left wondering how I made it to the end.
