Adaptation of the children’s book about Lyle the Crocodile who lives in New York City. When the Prime family move into the house, little did they know that a giant singing crocodile was living in the attic.

We open with a scene showing Hector P. Valenti who was constantly trying to get an act going and finds a crocodile that he takes as a pet and wants nothing more than to have Lyle involved in his show. He actually discovers that the crocodile can sing, but actually getting him to perform in front of people. Time then passes by and the Primm family move into the house that Hector had left.
Josh struggling at school and not having many friends comes across Lyle one day and then forms a bond with the crocodile, although his mother did not take so kindly to begin with. Although some strange magic seems to then take the whole family under his spell. An issue though is Mr Grumps who is a neighbour and wonders what is going on in the upstairs apartment.
I had no background knowledge of the story that the film is based upon, I may have possibly heard of it before but that was about it. Maybe? I had actually wanted to go to the cinema to see this one and actually really pleased that I did not waste my time with it in that sense, or more so paid for my godson to see it (as that was originally the plan).
Javier Bardem is a brilliant actor, but even he could not do anything to save this truly awful film. I really could not come up with anything that was good about it, and to be completely brutal not even sure how I managed to make it to the end. How can something with a singing/dancing animated animal go so terribly wrong? I will say one positive was Winslow Fegley who I enjoyed in 8-Bit Christmas last year.
However, I feel like I need to clarify that I am obviously not in the target audience for this film at all.

I hate to read this is so dreadful, I really looked forward to it. I mean my kids did.
