After his show at the Tyne Theatre and Opera House he was doing a book signing with his new book “a pocketful of happiness” which was what the show was all based around. His career, life, growing up and most importantly his love for his late wife Joan. It was fantastic to be able to meet him and I got a book signed for my brother with a classic Withnail and I quote in. Just changing Monty, with Christopher “you terrible c***.” Richard looked amused when he saw what I had asked to be written in the book and I explained it’s my brothers favourite film and my brother equally found it very amusing as well!

Two things: he is a great talent, both onstage and screen. Second, he wrote a hilarious and insightful book about his journey through the entertainment business that plays off the name of that iconic film: “Without Nails.” I shared a look at the film and the book as well: https://johnrieber.com/2016/09/14/englands-greatest-comedy-with-nails-classic-withnail-and-i-terrific-richard-e-grant-autobiography/
