The return of the infamous “Sweet Sixteen Killer” after 35 years since the frist murder spree to claim another victim, sends 17 year old Jamie back in time to 1987 in an attempt to work out the killer and stop it all before he can even start.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Those killings in 1987 took place over the space of 4 days, with three teenage girls being killed on the night of their 16th birthday, being stabbed 16 times. Named Tiffany Clark, Marisa Song and Heather Hernandez. When moving to the present day Jamie Hughes is out with her friend at a concert and her mother Pam is stabbed to death by the killer who has appeared 35 years later!
While grieving the death of her mother she helpds her friend Ameila put the finishing touches on a time machine that was made for a school project. Jamie is then chased by the killer and she hides in the time machine, which just happens to activate and sends her back to 1987. Hiding herself as an exchange student, she quickly finds out that her mother and her friends were not nice at all and pretty much hated by everyone around the town. That was naturally going to make it a lot more difficult to work out who the killer was, as they certainly gave a lot of people motive to kill them.
The twists and turns make it difficult to work out who the killer actually is and what can be done to stop them, in both the present day and 1987! With Jamie stuck, it is up to Amelia to work hard to fix the time machine to be able to then bring her back to the present day. While the film does reference Back to the Future quite a lot, it also pokes fun at the impact of time travel and how actually changing the past will also change the future.
To be brutally honest I really did not expect anything from this film at all, when coming across it on Amazon and deciding to watch it. However, it manages to create a rather entertaining mixture of a slasher horror, comedy and timetravel! Who would have thought those three very different styles of film could be smashed together for such an enertaining ride?
Kiernan Shipka really does lead and drive the film in such a good manner, making it all very engaging from start to finish. She really is a young actress to watch following her starring role in the Sabrina tv series and now making her way across more into film.

Cool! Sounds worth checking out.
