Love Hurts (2025) Review

Marvin Gable is a realtor who has been very successful but his former life of crime is about to catch back up with him when he receives a valentine’s day message that can only mean one thing.

⭐️

Everything seems happy for Marvin who quite frankly just loves his job of selling houses and finds out he has won an award. With a Valentine’s party (yes really) taking place in his office everything is about to go crazy when The Raven shows up and the pair begin to fight, he keeps mentioning Rose.

Knuckles the brother of Marvin apparently has a vendetta against the world, when in reality he just walks around drinking bubble tea. If you steal from him you end up dead, but maybe he was too busy with the bubble tea to realise what had really happened and that it was Renny his supposed right hand man that he should have been watching out for?

Throw in King and Otis who are utter idiots and nothing about them is even funny at all, no matter how much that is being forced at us that we should be laughing? Apparently Rose and Marvin could be a thing and again another reason why this film was just so dreadful was that nothing between that pair should have had any romance in at all. That just didn’t work either, nothing in this film worked for me. It was like one bad moment to the next.

What I really could not understand while watching and even now was how they took two very recent Oscar winners in Ke Huy Quan and Ariana DeBose and produced this terrible film. Serisouly it makes no sense at all. Then you add in Sean Astin who yes we all still love right? I just don’t know how it ended up being this bad with some very good actors.

This is another film that I am left wondering how it managed to wangle a cinema release when we actually get better straight to streaming films at times. I guess this is what can happen when you go into a film utterly blind to any aspect of it.
