The End of Oak Street (2026) Review

The Platt family must work together to survive when a cosmic event transports their suburban neighbourhood back to a very different place and time!

⭐️⭐️

The End of Oak Street goes a different way when it comes to a dinosaur movie, and quite frankly I was really looking forward to seeing it. That hope didn’t really last too long once it started, I will attempt to explain why.

We see that Denise and Greg are having some issues and what should be a perfect suburban family, two kids, a dog. Over the course of a couple of nights strange things start happening in Oak Street, with bright lights and some bizarre moments.

In terms of dinosaur films we have had quite a few within the Jurassic World theme, and this does attempt to do something a little bit different so I will give it some credit for that at the very least. As that is probably the most positive thing I can really say about it, the CGI for the dinosaurs was really terrible and they were some bizarre looking creatures. We then have Brian the son who is one of the worst characters I have seen for a very long time.

I think I was pretty much gone with the film long before we ended up in the strange world of dino-porn, I certainly was surprised to see that screen although it did make me properly laugh just with it being so unexpected. It was also in that moment that I truly wondered why Anne Hathaway and Ewan McGregor agreed to do this film.

So with what started as actually looking forward to a film, while in the cinema screen that quickly changed as it went on. The storyline was just all over the place and could have been more interesting if they actually went into it more on how the whole area had been transported back in time?
