Top 10: Young Actors

I have watched a few movies recently and thought that the actor in it has a fantastic career ahead of them so decided to make a top 10 list of those actors. With a few reasons why  I think they will keep progressing and go on to do great things (potentially), from the movies I have seen them in. I decided to define the young actor, as an actor under the age of 30.

Toy Story (1995) Review

Woody is a cowboy doll and is very jealous when a new toy comes into the room and he feels like he is no longer the favourite with Andy his owner. To infinity and beyond . . .

Movies Men Cry to . . . by MSN

On my homepage for MSN when coming on line, I noticed that one of the sections was on “Movies Men Cry to”. So decided to not only read it but blog about it and see whether I can actually imagine any of my male friends crying to these movies.

E.T. The Extra Terrestrial is the first up in the list, I can imagine possibly a boy crying if they relate to Elliott and would had to say goodbye to there best alien friend.

The Shawshank Redemption – I have to admit that I did not cry at this one, but have seen it in a few lists of movies that make men cry.  Maybe its the male bonding factor?

American History X – I have yet to see this movie.

The Champ – I have seen this and cried, can understand more why men would cry as well.

Dead Poets Society – Carpe Diem . . . I think anyone of either sex who does not shed a tear or at least fill up at this movie is made of stone or something.

Field Of Dreams – a story about a son’s search for his father “build it and he will come . . . can understand with the father/son relationship being the main topic how it could effect men of all ages.

Forrest Gump – Everyone must shed a few tears at different parts of this film, as Forrest is just not smart enough at times to realise what is going on around him.

Gladiator – I guess this one is because of his love for his family.

Glory – Another which I have not seen.

The Green Mile – This one actually broke my heart, and has to be another of the if you did not shed a tear or fill up you are made of stone movies.

Kramer vs Kramer – The breakfast scene at the end is so sad, can understand the father/son relationship again.

My Life – This is really is heartbreaking, a man making videos for his child to watch so he knows him.

Hotel Rwanda – Have yet to see this movie.

Saving Private Ryan – I found this really hard to watch, mainly for the reason that its so heartbreaking with how real it all looks and seems.

Schindler’s List – This is on my Sky+ to watch

Seabiscuit – Yet to see this movie

Stand By Me – Yet to see this movie

United 93 – I found this really awful to watch, and I am sure everyone else who has seen it has as well.

Watership Down – I cried my eyes out when watching this as a child, although cannot remember much of it now.

It’s A Wonderful Life – It must be quite impossible not to cry to this, what would happen if you were never born.

So my question is to the male population out there, which movies make you cry?

Do they feature in this list?

Ladder 49 (2004) Review

When a firefighter is injured and trapped when on a job, his life flashes before his eyes and this is how we see his story unfold. Remembering the very happy times he has had, as the Chief attempts to rescue him.

Nine (2009) Pictures

As I am very excited for this movie to come out (especially after the trailer being on before Fame last week). I decided to post the pictures which have been released as stills of the movie. From the trailer and the pictures below, I am really holding high hopes of loving this movie. Just for the facts that it is a musical and it is directed by Rob Marshall, who directed one of my favorite films in Chicago.

I think this film is just fantastic, with all of the women in the photo. Such fantastic talent in this picture.

Surrogates (2009) Review

Tom Greer (Bruce Willis) is a policeman who must investigate death’s of people who had been killed while plugged in and controlling their surrogate. The surrogate was killed, as was the person this was not supposed to be possible. It was supposed to be safer for the real person to go out with a surrogate in order for them to not get hurt or in any danger. A few twists and turns are in the plot to see who is trying to stop the world of surrogates and get people to really live again. I am not going to spoil the ending on who it was behind it all, see if you can figure it out when you go to see this film.

3D Movies

3D seems to very much be the in thing at the movies at the moment. 2010 is scheduled to be jam-packed with plenty of 3D action, and still a few more to come over the rest couple of months in 2009.

Just had “The Final Destination” which was the first 3D movie I have seen at the cinema. The only reason I went to see it was because it was in 3D to be completely honest. I wonder how many more people took this approach?

In the UK we still have a film I am very much looking forward to opening next month “Up”. A new Pixar/Disney film, so it is very much on my really want to see list.

Also this Friday we have the release of the original “Toy Story” in 3D which is going to be just fantastic. As I already love it and it can only get better in 3D. Toy Story 2 is also due for release.

Then as a special Christmas treat we have Disney’s Christmas Carol, which I think just looks fantastic. Got to love Jim Carrey even if it is just his voice.

Also around Christmas time we have “Avatar” which does look very cool, as I saw the trailer for it in 3D while seeing The Final Destination. So for the rest of this year we do have a few 3D movies to really look forward too.

2010

So far for next year we have seven 3D films to look forward too. Beauty and the Beast in 3D, Alice in Wonderland (which I have to admit that I had no idea would be in 3d, but I am now more excited for this film), Shrek Forever After, How To Train Your Dragon, Hubble, Tron Legacy and Toy Story 3.

I think for 2010, I am most looking forward to Toy Story 3 and Alice in Wonderland.

What are everyone’s thoughts on 3D movies?

Mrs. Doubtfire (1993) Review

This has to be one of my favorite and most watched films ever. Just because I used to watch it so much when I was little when it first came out and still love watching it now. It still manages to make me smile and laugh, even though I do know all of the words and even tone in which the words are said. Yes that has to help describe my love for this film. I am always shocked to hear if someone has not seen this film as I always just assume that everyone has.

The Imaginarium Of Doctor Parnassus (2009) Poster

Just come across another poster for “The Imaginarium Of Doctor Parnassus”. I think I like this poster the best (so far) and think it really catches the craziness which is shown in the trailer for the movie. It really is building up suspense for the release, I for one cannot wait til it comes out.
