Film and Theatre Lover!
Here we have the winners from the 2024 Golden Globes, which was the 81st annual ceremony. As I missed posting the nominations before the ceremony I have left in all of the nominees on this post!

As it turned out 2023 was a rather good year for film, that including cinema releases and films that might have just gone straight to streaming services, although we have hit a time where the turnaround for some films from cinema to streaming services is not long at all. With some films given an advanced release at the cinema, which I am guessing is for people like me who still prefer to see films on that lovely big screen!

The following films made my longlist but not quite into the final ten, this was obviously quite a tough year to decide on: Wonka, One Life, Leave the World Behind, The Great Escaper, Totally Killer, Guardian’s of the Galaxy Vol.3, Are You There God? It’s Me, Margaret, Rye Lane and The Super Mario Bros. Movie.
Now check out which ten films did make the top ten in this years Let’s Go To The Movies Best Films list …
Continue reading “Top 10 – Best Films of 2023”The following films will advance to the nominating stage of voting. This is the initial longlisting round.
Round Two voting, to determine the nominations, opens today at 18.00 GMT to BAFTA’s voting members and will close on Friday 12 January 2024.
The nominations for the 2024 EE BAFTA Film Awards will be announced on Thursday 18 January and the ceremony will take place on Sunday 18 February.
10 films will advance in the Best Film category. 234 eligible films were submitted for consideration. All film voting members of BAFTA vote to determine the longlist, nominations and overall winner.
15 films will advance in the Outstanding British Film category. All BAFTA film voting members were invited to join an opt-in chapter to determine the longlist (of which the top five are nominated). A jury selects the remaining five nominations. In the final round all film voting members vote to determine the winning film. 76 eligible films were submitted for consideration.
This has become one of my favourite things to look at that the end of the year, actually who am I kidding it’s something I actually monitor throughout the year as well. I love stats for anything and everything because let’s face it you cannot argue against that type of information.
My film viewing in 2023 was lower than normal and that was mainly due to some personal struggles and battles, I think with that though I managed to watch mainly ok and good films, obviously the odd bad one will sneak in but I feel as though I made better choices.
This year we have a new themes cateogry thrown in as well! I did try to keep rewatches a lower and focus on first time viewings and I manged 67.5%.

What are your stats for 2023?
Which film did you watch the most, and who were your top stars?
When everything begins to go wrong for Barbie it leads her to question her world and overall existence. Is Barbie Land all it seems to be?
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Continue reading “Barbie (2023) Review”I mean we are all very interested to see how Barbie will play out on the big screen in live action form, right? Well, I am invested especially since the infamous rollerskating photos of Ryan Gosling and Margot Robbie. Although the lack of Gosling in the trailer was disappointing. But I guess we have Helen Mirren narrating and it makes it look so over the top and ridiculous, which is more than what we need right? I do love a good teaser trailer, coming summer 2023!

After such a long wait to eventually see Toy Story 3 (11 years to be precise), I went to the cinema on Monday for the 9.10pm showing and it was pretty full with people mainly around my age, that age being . . . well the children who grew up with the first Toy Story and it certainly took us all back to our childhoods and it felt great seeing our favorite toys on another adventure.
Andy has grown up and so have we, but we still love these toys!
