Top 10 – Best Films of 2023

As it turned out 2023 was a rather good year for film, that including cinema releases and films that might have just gone straight to streaming services, although we have hit a time where the turnaround for some films from cinema to streaming services is not long at all. With some films given an advanced release at the cinema, which I am guessing is for people like me who still prefer to see films on that lovely big screen!

The following films made my longlist but not quite into the final ten, this was obviously quite a tough year to decide on: Wonka, One Life, Leave the World Behind, The Great Escaper, Totally Killer, Guardian’s of the Galaxy Vol.3, Are You There God? It’s Me, Margaret, Rye Lane and The Super Mario Bros. Movie.

Now check out which ten films did make the top ten in this years Let’s Go To The Movies Best Films list …

Cineworld Secret Screening 8 – Possible Films?

Cineworld have had quite a few Secret Screenings in the past few months, and it is just over a month since the last one in August which was the indie film Scrapper.

Date: Wednesday 27th September 2023
Time: 7:45pm

Just a reminder before attempting to guess potential films that the 15 rating and 90 minutes time listed on the website does not mean that it will be that rating or that length! They have to put a 15 rating incase of course it is a 15 film, so basically we can rule out 18 rated films (not that we get many of them these days). In the past animated films which have had a PG rating have been Secret Screenings. Here is a recap of the first 10 original Secret Screening films.

Anyway moving on here are my potential picks for this secret screening on Wednesday 27th September 2023!

Movie Quote of the Day 87

Today is what I love to call Christmas Eve Eve and the quote comes from Deck the Halls. Something I think we all must remember in this day and age 🙂

“That’s what Christmas memories are made from, they’re not planned, they’re not scheduled, nobody puts them in their Blackberry, they just happen.”

Movies from the iPad

I now have no excuse about updating this blog. As now have an iPad so can work on drafts and posts on my way to work! Good times I reckon. I have tried on the past to use my iPod touch or Blackberry but find them both too small to type on, but that is not a problem with the iPad at all!

I could even watch a couple of the movies I have on iTunes. So this really does bode well for more posts on the blog. If I don’t have time to start a review when I get home from the cinema on a night time the option now is the next morning to at least start it getting my main points down before I forget. Very easy to type on this keypad great size!

Anyone else in the iPad club?

Valentine’s Day (2010) Review

Intertwining couples and singles in Los Angeles break-up and make-up based on the pressures and expectations of Valentine’s Day. Kinda like Love Actually but instead of Christmas and London . . . Valentine’s Day and LA.

WordPress for Blackberry

I have been a proud Blackberry user for a few years now and currently have the Curve. Since I got this phone I have had the WordPress Application installed but never actually used it. I figured now as I cannot sleep would be a good time to test out if I could see myself using the application to actually update my blog or not. Does anyone else use a phone application to update their blog?

I suppose it is not much different other than it being smaller than a computer, but not as simple to post pictures. Although if I take a picture on my phone I can upload straight to the blog, which could encourage random movie taking related pictures.

I might as well make this movie related too and say that I still have not seen Avatar but cannot wait to go, maybe Saturday morning. Anyone seen it yet?
