Surely this is becoming one of the most remade films? Although I have only seen the 1954 version with Judy Garland which I totally love! Therefore I am very much looking forward to seeing a more modern take on the film, Bradley Cooper is also directing as well as starring opposite Lady Gaga. From this first trailer it really does look like it’s going to be a special film with a great soundtrack!
Due for release in the UK on the 8th October, could well be an early Oscar contender?

Just shared this as well, and I agree: this looks like an awards contender. I have worked in Hollywood for a while, attended several Oscar shows, and the town loves to look at themselves…plus it looks and sounds great!! Here is my story that takes a look at the previous versions of the film as well:

I’ve watched the trailer three times already! Totally loving it, hope they release the soundtrack before the film.

As with “The Artist” winning 2011 Best Picture, the industry likes to see people surprise them with unexpected depth, and of course to be about the business…this has that – you can see how both Cooper and Gaga could wow the voters with this…it looks GREAT…the 1976 version with Streisand is too long but fun to watch as well – more drama behind-the-scenes than onscreen however!

This kind of looks like a giant turd to me. Bradley Cooper taking on so many roles with this film is also a red flag…too many hats usually equates to a mess. Maybe not though. We shall see!
