Sad news has just been announced that Sir Sidney Poitier has passed away at the age of 94. He was the first black man to win an Oscar, which was for his performance in Lilies of the Field.

Funnily enough, I re-watched Sneakers a few weeks back. He was great in that, acting opposite Robert Redford, its a neat film (heck of a cast, too). He was one of the greats, no question.

Can you imagine the history he’s seen? I still remember watching movies in the 60’s with him in them.
