Sad news broke this morning that iconic actor Val Kilmer passed away yesterday at the age of 65. Well known for his role of Batman in Batman Forever, Ice Man in Top Gun and Jim Morrison in The Doors. In 2014 he suffered from throat cancer which had a big impact on his life as well as his acting career. I was lucky enough to do a photo op with him a London Comic Con back in 2019. Rest in peace Val ❤️

Very sad news indeed…he had such a great run in film before seeming to lose his way, then health issues of course…I think immediately of “The Doors”, “Top Secret!” and “Kiss Kiss Bang Bang” with many others as well…

I loved him in Real Genius and Top Secret!, two movies he didn’t care for himself. He was fabulous in Tombstone. His documentary Val is very well-done.

I’ve realised that I really haven’t seen that many of his films, so I feel in his memory I need to catch up.

One movie with Val Kilmer that I now remember is Kill Me Again because he was particularly good in it. He played a private eye who helps a woman (played by Joanne Whalley) fake her own death to escape from her dangerous husband. I think that I’ll remember him best for The Saint. R.I.P., Val.
