Gentlemen Prefer Blondes (1953) Review

Marilyn Monroe and Jane Russell were just fantastic as the best friends travelling from America across to Paris. LoreleiΒ (Monroe)Β and Dorothy (Russell)Β are just “Two Little Girls from Little Rock”, lounge singers on a transatlantic cruise… which is obviouslyΒ going to be full of surprises and many amusing moments. Especially with the Olympic team on the same boat . . . and rich men who Lorelei is very much interested in.

Theatre Moment 1

As I am a huge musical theatre fan. I decided that I would find some of my favorite songs from the stage, and every now and then make a post about them. The first theatre moment as they shall be called, is a duet from “Mame” featuring two of my most favorite actresses, the late Bea Arthur and Angela Lansbury. They are both just so fantastic and this song/video is just great. I love it!

What do you make of this video?

Top 10 – Actors in their 30’s

After composing the list of top 10 young actors which I used 30 as the cut off age. I decided to make a list of in my opinion in the top 10 actors in their 30s. This actually proved rather difficult to come up with as quite a lot of current actors in their 30s are very talented and doing a lot of great work. I am sure there is still a lot to come from some of these actors as well.

Indecent Proposal (1993) Review

Diana (Demi Moore) and David Murphy (Woody Harrelson) are a married couple who have been together for a long time, they have money problems and find themselves in Las Vegas trying to win the money they need in order to keep their house. John Gage (Robert Redford) spots Diana and offers to buy her a dress, but she says she is not for sale. Then he makes them a very strange and unreal offer of $1 million for her to have sex with him. Diana and David decide to go ahead with it as they really need the money. But will it really be the end of it once they leave and go back home? At first yes that is all fine, but after a while when David starts asking questions and wants to know exactly what happened it is bound to go wrong. Diana going and trying to have a relationship with John, was that really the best idea in the world. I mean after the way they met and started out was it really going to work out? The answer to that was always going to be no, it could never work out. Although I did actually like the way he started going on about a million dollar club in order to stop it form hurting him more than it actually did, that kind of changed my mind about John and that he did actually want to be with Diana. But we have a decision to make at the ending whether or not Diana and David really gave it another go after sitting in the place he had proposed 7 years earlier.

Invictus (2009) Trailer

Quickly after the release of the poster comes the trailer for Clint Eastwood’s “Invictus” and this really does have Oscars 2010 written all over it. It really does look and will be that good. The biggest questions will be, if Morgan Freeman and Matt Damon will go up against each other to get nominated and go forward to win in the Best Actor cateogory or not.

FlashForward – Episodes 4 & 5

I have just finished watching a double bill of FlashForward as last week, episode 3 got deleted off Sky+ so had to record it again on Friday. So then decided just to wait until this morning when episode 4 had been recorded as well. Plus side of watching it after its been recorded? Fast forwarding the adverts. It was actually quite difficult to watch 2 episodes in a row, as so much information to take in from each episode.
