Masters of the Universe (2026) Review

Adam is haunted by his past, even though nobody on Earth actually believes it to be true. If only he could find the magic sword, that would work right?

⭐️⭐️⭐️

The opening scene we are shown Skeletor taking over and young Adam sent away for protection, but he ends up on his own away from his parents and everyone else he knew. Although he always seemed to be a disappointment to his father the King due to his lack of passion towards fighting and combat.

Does Adam have it in him to return to his home and save everything he once knew about the kingdom of Eternia, can he actually become the warrior his father had attempted to train him to be? We get to see plenty of different action sequences laced with comedy and quite frankly rather hilarious moments.

I found the journey to be enjoyable enough, I didn’t have any previous knowledge around Masters of the Universe as I haven’t seen any other versions of it so I went in rather blind in that sense. Maybe that was a good thing? As it meant no pressure whatsoever and zero expectations of what was going to unfold.

Nicholas Galitzine was a great choice for the leading role given the different films he has taken on so far in his career, he got both parts of the character across in a very good manner. Good chemistry with Camila Mendes as well which felt rather effortless, I enjoyed her very kick ass character and the way she linked with Idris Elba. Jared Leto as Skeletor was next level crazy, with a rather camp nature to the character.
