What is going to happen to our favourite toys when electronic devices become a huge threat to playtime, can Woody, Buzz and Jessie do anything to help all toys?
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
We are now fully in Bonnie’s world where Jessie is loving that she is the top toy for a kid again, although everything is about to come crashing down with the introduction of Lilypad. Despite the best efforts from the toys to help Bonnie actually have some friends, her parents don’t really see the issue of Lilypad and the games and online messaging is about to begin,
In true Toy Story fashion though they aren’t about to just wait and see what happens and the adventures begin. Little did Jessie realise where this would take her and the memories of her first owner and everything that happened with that. It was quite nice to see more of Jessie and that character development within this film. Although we did get the lack of Woody, and quite frankly I am not a fan of the whole bald patch part.
Did we need a 5th Toy Story film? Not really, 3 could have ended it so nicely but we keep going back for more! Not forgetting all the merchandise that comes with it from Disney and within the cinema too, I will admit those Buzz Lightyear popcorn and drinks holders were very cool! (No, I did not get one).
The story at the core of the film is actually very interesting and came just days after the UK put in place a social media ban for those under 16, so that timing was perfect to highlight the negative impact even playing games over an online network can have even for very young children. The introduction of technology and when it should actually be used is something that this film should highlight and debate, it did make me wonder if many toys are still actually played with at all?
