The origin of the Turtle brothers and the curiosity they feel towards the human world, wanting to explore New York City and be accepted. They must work hard to prove they aren’t evil like some of the other mutants.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The style of the animation was really cool, gave me similar vibes to the Spider-Verse films with that comic book type feel. It does work well and I have to admit that I like seeing different animation as let’s face it gets a bit boring if it all looks the same.
The story takes it way back to the start and how the four tiny turtles were exposed to some green slime stuff, and made them into mutants. Although they weren’t the only animals and this is how Splinter became a father to them and due to his experiences of the human world and not be accepted he attempts to keep them hidden in the sewer system. Also teaching them ninja moves and training them to be able to take care of themselves.
As they become teenagers they are more curious about people and enjoy watching films. Meeting April an aspiring reporter would change everything for them and she didn’t judge (despite being a little scared to begin with) and she wanted to create a good story for and about them.
I have always been quite the fan of the Turtles since being a kid and I always feel a new adventure and film about something you enjoyed during childhood is still enjoyable as an adult. That was no different with this one, which had some very good moments in it. It does though seem to fall into that trap of having a lot of different films coming out in a short about of time in different formats.
The voice work was really good and Pizza Hut went all in with the product placement which I have to say was extra impressive given the animated format. One question I did have though was the smart phones, I mean who else did they message and how did they get signals down in the sewers? I know everything is phone obsessed these days, I am also very aware of how old a statement like that makes me not only sound but also feel.
I certainly wouldn’t be opposed to a sequel in this format!

Sounds good! Kids were wanting to give it a try and doesn’t appear it will disappoint. Thanks for reviewing this one.

Was pleased to get round to see it, I went with my friend and her 5 year old son and he hardly took his eyes off the screen.

Cool. My 4 year old son will probably love it, and my 9 year old martial arts loving daughter. Appreciate the info.
