I always feel like this is the important list of 2014 films to do first, as then everyone knows that I missed some films. A number of reasons for this, that they were unfortunately only on at the cinema for a week and it come and went too quickly to catch it. That I was just too busy and picked other films (it happens and often leads to bad choices) or in some cases that a particular film just doesn’t get released in my area. I have this year attend the cinema quite a lot on my own on an evening, something I never thought I would do, but at the end of the day I am not bothered at all what people think. If I had been bothered I would have missed some cracking films this year such as Boyhood, St. Vincent and Interstellar all of which have a very good chance of making it into my top 10 films of 2014!
I will be looking to try and catch up with these films in 2015, unless of course anyone would like to tell me to avoid any of them?Fury

i would say Frank but i have only seen a couple of these films

The Homesman annoyed me the most as didn’t even make it to my local cinema.
i saw Monuments Men and was one of the few people that liked it, i wasn’t interested in the Skeleton Twins but want to see the rest. but this year i am going to make sure i see as many of the newest films as possible
I broke my record of number of films seen at the cinema in 2014. So I guess I have to try and beat it again in 2015.
i wish i could get to the cinema more often but never seem to find enough time
I would avoid “The Giver” like the plague, especially if you’ve read the book. But even if you haven’t, it’ll feel like dystopia-lite.

Calvary is terrific, but try to see The Guard first. They are two of three films made about modern Ireland and the two that are out – The Guard and Calvary – are very entertaining. I enjoyed The Monuments Men but then I am fascinated by art and history.
Your the second person to mention The Guard, which I have on Blu Ray and haven’t watched yet. So I think that has to go to the top of my list to watch in 2015!
I liked The Giver more than most but it’s still not that good and I probably won’t exactly recommend it. Frank is great and The Skeleton Twins was just a really nice and heartfelt film but it might be too sappy for some people. Fury is quite underrated I think

Haha that’s good to know that I’m not missing a massive amount. That seems like good decisions.
Out of these I would recommend Fury the most. It’s not one of the best WWII films, but it is entertaining and if you go into it without comparing it to others of its kind it’s pretty satisfying!

i would recommend the Skeleton Twins. the Equalizer.. not so much but gave it passing marks because of Denzel’s performance.

It does look a very random film. Fassbender keeps that mask thing on for the whole thing . . .
I was really impressed by the Equalizer. Fury is entertaining too but Brad Pitt is kinda terrible in it.
I’ll bare that in mind for both of those films 🙂
